TKL Logistics now offers its customers the opportunity to switch to renewable liquefied biomethane (LBM), an established sustainable fuel for maritime transport that can achieve net-zero emissions. This offer applies to all bookings on all routes, regardless of the vessel transporting the cargo.
Customers can book their sea freight using fully renewable fuel, LBM, through a book-and-claim method based on the amount of energy required to transport containers across the ocean.
The fuel is certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) and is produced from waste-based raw materials, ensuring that no palm oil or other unsustainable sources are used. This results in a 100% reduction in CO₂e emissions per container compared to conventional fossil fuels. The reduction is calculated according to the Well-to-Wake (WTW) methodology, which includes emissions from fuel production to its final use.
Customers receive proof of their purchase of sustainable fuel, including an independently verified certificate showing the achieved CO₂e reduction thanks to the fuel switch.
