Together with TKL, the company works both with its transport solutions and with continuously improving its logistics operations, including load factors, consolidation, transport routes and delivery frequencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During 2025, Fergas switched to fossil-free fuels for all of its sea and air freight. Through this fuel switch, CO\u2082 emissions from the transports are reduced by up to 100 percent, without Fergas having to make any changes to its own operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor Fergas, reducing the environmental impact throughout the entire value chain is a natural priority. We work broadly to reduce our climate footprint,\u201d says Robert Leuchovius, Quality &amp; Sustainability Manager at Fergas North Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sustainability throughout the entire logistics chain<\/strong><br>Transport is part of Fergas\u2019 indirect climate impact. By setting requirements for its transport providers, the company aims to gradually reduce greenhouse gas emissions while creating better conditions for its long-term sustainability efforts. The certificates show how many tonnes of CO\u2082 have been reduced, and Fergas uses these figures in its sustainability reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Fergas, sustainable logistics is about more than the choice of fuel or an individual shipment. Together with TKL, the company continuously reviews load factors, opportunities for consolidation, transport routes and delivery frequencies. This work has been ongoing for many years and is aimed at improving the logistics operation as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Would like to see greater demand for fossil-free transport<\/strong><br>Fergas would like to see more companies begin requesting fossil-free transport solutions. At present, customer demand specifically for fossil-free transport remains limited, but Fergas sees its own efforts as an opportunity both to influence the development of the market and to strengthen the company\u2019s competitiveness over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By communicating the measures being taken, the company hopes to contribute to increased demand for more sustainable transport alternatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Personal contact and knowledge of the business<\/strong><br>The collaboration between Fergas and TKL is not only about individual shipments or certificates.<br>An important part of the partnership is the knowledge of Fergas\u2019 operations and supplier structure that has been built up over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTKL knows our business and, by now, the needs of our suppliers very well. Given the way the world looks today, this is essential for succeeding throughout the entire logistics chain.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Fergas, the personal contact means that TKL has a strong understanding of both the business and the requirements surrounding its transports. This is becoming increasingly important in a logistics chain that can quickly be affected by changes around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Certificates for carbon insetting<\/strong><br>The work together with TKL has resulted in certificates for carbon insetting \u2013 emissions reductions made within the company\u2019s own value chain by replacing fossil fuels with biofuels in the actual transports, as opposed to carbon offsetting through external projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure that the fuel switch is carried out correctly, the process is reviewed by an independent auditing firm. Once it has been verified that a transport has been allocated the relevant biofuel, a certificate is issued confirming that biofuel has replaced fossil fuel and stating how many tonnes of CO\u2082 have consequently been reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fergas describes the process as simple and straightforward, while its work with sustainable transport forms part of a much longer-standing collaboration between the two companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Work that delivers tangible results<\/strong><br>When asked whether Fergas would recommend TKL\u2019s fossil-free transport solutions to other companies, the answer is clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAbsolutely.
